The woman next to you suddenly rises from her seat, her face transfixed in a mask of concentration, fingers snapping a morse code. She raises her arms, relishing the slow burn before exploding into a barrage of stamping feet, whipping turns and circling arms. The night has just begun.

Join A’lante Flamenco for this special, intimate night of flamenco that is best described by the word “agustito.” Like the song says:

“…me rompo la camisa si el punto me da
y yo luego acabo cantando,
en esta esquina me pongo a bailar
mientras los primos me cantan…”
(Translation: ” I’ll rip my shirt if I get the urge, and later I’ll end up singing. Over in the corner I may start dancing, while my buddies sing to me.”)

For “Agustito” we have invited our good friends Genevieve Obregon (dancer) and Guillermo Gonzalez (singer) as our special guests. With music by Isai Chacon, Jose Manuel Tejeda, and Celia Corrales, and dance by Olivia Chacon and Sofia Hurtado.
